From restaurant manager to the top of the city…

SweepSmart was formed in 2013 after founder Paul Solicari left his role as restaurant manager of his family’s business in Soho.

‍Paul’s brother-in-law, a Suffolk-based chimney sweep, had a bad fall from a roof he was working on and Paul volunteered to help out; a move that would set the wheels in motion for SweepSmart. Paul decided that this was the career for him and worked through numerous qualifications within the chimney sweep industry.

Paul started at the bottom and got his apprenticeship which would take him through the entire process and teachings of this time-old tradition, and also bring in some modern-day essentials that all chimney sweeps worth their salt need to know.

During his apprentice years, Paul gained a vast amount of practical experience in chimney construction and fireplace installations.

Unmatched Quality and Customer Service

SweepSmart takes the ethos of attention to detail and customer service you’d expect from a top restaurateur and apply it to an industry sadly not always known for high-quality work or operatives.

This quality was recognised by the Guild of Master Sweeps in 2014 when Paul was invited to become a member.

‍In 2015 SweepSmart passed the rigorous assessment process to become a Which? Trusted Trader and then in 2017, Paul was awarded the status of Master Sweep!

‍Paul and the team continuously extend and update their knowledge with an NVQ in Chimney Sweeping, making Paul one of the first qualified sweeps within the UK! There are still only around 100 qualified sweeps.

‍These high standards are reflected in all the work SweepSmart conducts, with the safety of our customers at the core of everything we do.

‍Choosing SweepSmart gives you peace of mind and the reassurance of standards passed on from a quality Soho restaurant with family values and exceptional customer service as priorities.
